Speaking of trying to blend in, I bought a purse today at H&M. It was €16 and it's pretty neutral -- gray, not hideous. Goodbye, huge bulky backpack! I'm choosing the popular purse, slung over the shoulder, and big binder carried in the hand. We'll see if I get fewer stares on the bus tomorrow.

I have a giant raspberry wool messenger bag, which is immediately distinguishable from like a million kilometers away.
as of late, i have been rocking the shrunken blazer and neck scarf look (i use the turn loosely)-- i still can't take myself seriously in jeans and definitely not in sneakers. Still attracting attention like there's no tomorrow-- maybe I should find a bag of my own. I really want one of those leather briefcase backpacks that the teachers wear, but I refuse to buy a new one, so I'm hoping to hit the fleamarket on friday.
