Musica de Filia fashion show

On Sunday, Miss Glissando and I attended a lovely Musica de Filia event, because you know, girls love a fashion show!! (Musica de Filia is the choir I belong to, and it is a little bit strange.) We had to sit with strangers, and there was a chocolate fountain. Also, the whole thing looked a little bit like a wedding reception. They should have had me write the descriptions of the clothes. They were all like, "Rebecca will be turning all the heads at prom this year, in her beautiful embroidered turquoise dress." (Yes, they called the prom, "prom." Just "prom.") Then there were some awful little skits, such as one that involved an eight-year-old girl saying to a teenager: "Are you going to a party? Can I come?" and the teenager saying, "It's not a party; it's called prom!" And then the girl sang a song about how she was an "in-between" ("too old for toys and too young for boys") and then the teenager said, "OK, you can come to prom, but you owe me big time!"
Hmmm...

There was some splendid food, though!

Magnetic Fields

If any of you have not heard the band Magnetic Fields, please let me know, and I will play you some. Right now, they are my favourite band of all time. They are fantastic! I'm trying to figure out a way to put music on my blog, or links to music, so I can put some Magnetic Fields on here.
The lyrics are very witty, and they often use a ukulele...

Secret identity

After looking at a few blogs using Google Blog Search, and seen that hardly anyone uses their real first names, I have decided that in order to protect myself from evil strangers, I am going to create a secret identity. From now on, please call me Margot in your comments. Okay? Thanks, y'all. If you'd like, I will use fake names for all of you, too. If you'd like me to call you something other than your name, please e-mail me and tell me what you'd like to be called.
Ha! This is so much fun!

The Squid and the Whale

My mum and I watched The Squid and the Whale today; I don't have much to say about it, except that it was a very good (and weird) movie.
(And Wes Anderson produced it!)

Overheard In New York

Have any of you heard of Overheard In New York? That website is hilarious. Click on the link. They post the funniest stuff on there, such as:

Hence "Latin America"

Girl #1: What did she just say?
Girl #2: She said "quesadilla".
Girl #1: Huh?
Girl #2: It's Latin.

What I've been doing lately

Hmmm... what's new? Not much. That's why I haven't been updating; I have absolutely nothing to say. I finished my biology homework, which was incredibly easy, but I haven't started my writing yet. I've been working on Latin a lot, and I made a scarf a couple days ago, which was fun. It looks pretty good, except where I had to hand-sew it, which is all uneven. We watched an hour of Stop Making Sense yesterday, which is so flippin cool, especially in the beginning when David Byrne comes out with a boom box and a guitar, and does those weird dances and stuff. Also, the part when he is dancing with the lamp is pretty great. A few days ago, we watched Rock School. Don't see it.
Don't worry, I don't spend all my time watching movies. But I do find them quite enjoyable. Recently we watched Amelie, too, which I thought was fantastic.

A picture I took with my CAMERA PHONE

Yesterday I decided I would no longer be riding in the car the way normal people did, and I spent the whole car ride taking photographs with my phone...

My complaints and a really weird dream

Now that my mom and Ezra have finally seen the FINALE OF PROJECT RUNWAY, I can finally complain in my blog about the winner (Chloe.) She seems perfectly nice, and she's a pretty interesting character, and we have (mostly) liked her stuff all along, but I am still very SAD.
OK. I'm done complaining.
Have y'all read about my dream on me mum's blog? I dreamt that I was being chased by the police, only it wasn't the police, it was the guys from "Queer Eye For the Straight Guy," which is SO WEIRD, because I've never seen that show! Actually, I think I saw it once, a really, really long time ago. But never mind. I noticed that this van had been following me, so I started to run away from it really fast, and then it stopped and the guys got out of the van and started running after me. Then I saw this car with an open door, so I got in, and there was a woman sitting there, and i said, "They're coming after me!! Drive me to the mall!!" And she was like, "Okay," and then all the guys got on bikes and kept chasing us. And then I woke up.
I always have the weirdest dreams.

New ukulele

Here I am on Christmas morning, trying out my new ukulele!

Photos

Wow!! I finally figured out how to post photographs on my blog using Picasa, which can be quite troublesome. I will be posting more soon.

A picture of me that I don't hate.

Finally!

Blogs are fun!

Yes, it's true! I am very glad that blogs exist, because I have a blog, and I have a little group of blogging friends, like Miss Glissando, Artemis, and Liz (my mum,) and then they each have a group of blogging friends, and so it could basically go on forever. (Forever, hey!) Also, if you use the handy blog search, you can find all sorts of interesting blogs.
That's my thought on blogs.
Also, is this text hard to read? Because if it is, I would be glad to change my template yet again. I want to make sure y'all can read this.

(And sorry about the boring link; I just wanted to try one out to see if it would work.)

Title! Yeah!

If you're wondering why this is the first time I've given my post a title, it's because I could never figure out how. But my mum has finally fixed my settings so that a box appears on the page, in which to type your title. Splendid!
I've also changed my template. Sorry. I just get tired of them often.
By the way, the dates are now in Icelandic. I don't know any Icelandic, but I still think it is a fabulous and interesting language.

Good morning (again.)
Did y'all watch the Oscars this year? I did, sort of, although I had to leave the party and go to bed at 9:30 (extrememly early for me.) It was fun. We drove to my grandparents' house in Cambridge on Sunday morning, and returned yesterday. The best part was our Indian food feast; I absolutely adore Indian food. It's my favourite sort of food without a doubt.
Today is Tuesday, and my autobiography class starts this afternoon. Usually I have biology at this time, but this week it has been moved to Friday. I always enjoy some extra time for the homework, although I no longer leave it until Monday night every week. My test is done, but I still have to figure out those durned notecards! Oh, well.
Eheu, tomorrow is Wednesday! Is it Wednesday? Is it? (I just felt like pretending to be Miranda July for a moment there.) Yes, it is, and that means that tomorrow is the finale of Project Runway, my latest obsession. It's not actually that stupid. In my opinion, it's much better than High School Musical, which Gabriella and Artemis loaned to us yesterday.

Good morning.

Yes, I know I haven't written forever. I'm sorry, folks.... Can you walk forever? Can you say that word, forever? Forever, hey!
Did y'all have a nice vacation? I did, although mine wasn't as eventful as my dad and Isaac's. I hung out with my mum, went to Cambridge, and watched a ton of movies, including Moulin Rouge, Monsoon Wedding, Lost In Translation, Rent (one and a half times,) and a whole lot of My So-Called Life, which I am liking better and better. In fact, we have finished the three DVDs that Miss Glissando lent us. Splendid. We need to get Ezra caught up, though. What fun. I am writing in short, choppy sentences.
What else? I had writing class yesterday, and I turned in a fabulous essay I wrote on McDonald's. I had the best time writing it. I also had biology, which involved examining chicken eggs. We worked in pairs, and I made Devyn do most of it. I felt bad, but eggs really gross me out. They're like fish: very nice to eat, but still absolutely disgusting. Not as disgusting as McDonald's, though!
Oh... I haven't been wishing all of my happy blogging friends good morning lately. I could go back and edit my posts, and add in all the good mornings, but I'm not going to.

Good morning!
