can i tell you about our ms. carter/next year meeting? i guess you don't have a choice, although you can certainly choose to stop reading whenever you want.
next year, we are going to have an infectious disease expedition with a humanities focus on africa. we will study how warfare (WW1) affects the spread of infectious disease. there will be some kind of presentation to an aid organization at the end.
also, we will study WW2 and our families roles in that (i think). we will do a photography/film project about our grandparents. not sure how this relates to ww2, but we'll see...
it's too bad i couldn't attend that meeting! i think the warfare affecting the spread of disease sounds interesting, as does the WW2 study. i'm not sure what i think about studying our families' roles in the war; i think my great-grandfather would have interesting things to say, but i hope we don't end up focusing entirely on that...
