Everything Is Illuminated

I am currently halfway through Everything Is Illuminated, and (so far) it is an incredbile book. Better than Extremely Loud And Incredibly Close, and that is one of the best books ever written. If you have not read Everything Is Illuminated, you must do so immediately. It is g-e-w-d gewd. Or premium, maybe.

Happy birthday Ezra!

T'was Ezra's birthday today. We had carry-out Indian food for dinner, and then me mum made two of my famous vanilla cakes, and held them together with coconut frosting. She also made some sugary, white flour-y cinnamon rolls for breakfast. I think he had a successful birthday, despite the fact that both his new shoes and roller skates were too small.

Ceilidh!

Yesterday was another of Laura's famous ceilidhs, or Scottish dance parties. It was good fun! The last few ceilidhs have been in the World Arts Center, which is a bigger space, but this one was in the good ol' fashioned Portland New Church, formerly the Swedenborgen Church. My social dance class performed a medley of ceilidh dances, including The Gay Gordons, Strip The Willow, Trip To Bulvaria, The Canadian Barn Dance, and (my very favourite) Marie's Wedding! The ceilidhs are always splendid. Ezra did very well (he performed the lilt and part of the sword dance.)

Haircut

Here is a picture of my new haircut. You can't really see it, but now my bangs are now a lovely red colour.

Found event

On Sunday was another lovely Found event, which Ezra, Miss Glissando, my parents, and I attended. Ezra and I read some of our favourite finds from our found gallery. Our crime journal was even featured in Found's mass e-mail!

Just kidding. Actually, he got makeup done for a music video that he and I will be in. We filmed it yesterday, and had a lovely time. It's a video for Chad's band, filmed and edited by enoch.

Today (well, yesterday now) for tea, I made myself some pasta (I recently learned how to make it) and put olives, goat cheese, red onion, and salad dressing on it. It was lovely.

Isn't the first of May a holiday? May Day, or something? I can't seem to remember... anyway, today is Wes Anderson's birthday. He is my favourite director. I don't know how old he is... maybe 35? 36? Hmmm...
