The Garment District

We love the Garment District! This is Ezra trying on a cool pair of sun-goggles. I wish I took more pictures; he tried on dozens of sunglasses, including some that had eyeballs on them, some that were huge and round, and one pair that had disco balls hanging from them. I ended up buying some, actually. They're red and look like real glasses. Maybe I'll post a picture soon.

I don't understand why, but everyone is doing this, so I shall too.

What I'm drinking: Lots of black tea, with soymilk and sometimes a little honey or agave nectar. We're finishing the last of the Trader Joe's Irish Breakfast. Also, I enjoy iced chais with soymilk, not because I am trying to be vegan, but because I hate cow's milk and I'm pretty sure I'm allergic to dairy.

What I'm watching: We're in the middle of Arrested Development, which is really pretty good. I also recently saw Best In Show, which I enjoyed very much! (But I still like Waiting For Guffman better.) Remember "GOD loves a TERRIER!" everyone? That's my favourite part.

What I'm reading: I'm still at the beginning of Sophie's World. Sad. I don't think I will ever finish it. Also, I read The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-time a couple weeks ago, and liked it very much.

Chapel Hill!

We made it to Chapel Hill! Yahoo! I've had a fantastic trip so far; we drove to Baltimore yesterday (eight hours in the car) and to Chapel Hill today (six hours.) We're having such a lovely time with David and Ellen. We stopped at The Weave this afternoon, then went to Spotted Dog for dinner, and then watched Ferris Bueller's Day Off, which was good fun.

Almost Famous

We watched Almost Famous yesterday, and I had forgotten how much I like it. It is really a very good movie. Flora, if your parents are okay with it, we should watch it together. It's funny, and it has good music in it. That is sort of all I've got to say.

Everything Is Illuminated

I finally saw the film version of Everything Is Illuminated, which I enjoyed. It wasn't anything like the book, but it is definitely worth seeing, and I really did like parts of it. It frustrated me sometimes, though, and it left so much out. I still liked it more than I expected to. The way they introduced Alex was terrific, and I am glad they managed to capture his way of speaking, because it's extremely funny.
